ISO 9001/2000 CERTIFICATION PROCESS BEGUN
Phipps & Bird today officially launched its drive for ISO 9001/2000 certification.
All employees attended an informational meeting conducted by Rick Marshall, RAQA Manager. Following opening remarks by President Wes Skaperdas, Rick presented an overview of the implementation process. He then turned the meeting over to guest speaker Thom Schermer, who was instrumental in implementing ISO at Noland Co.
Several months of preparation preceded today’s kickoff event. The Quality System Manual and many of the administrative Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have already been completed. An aggressive pace has been set to complete the remaining engineering, manufacturing and operational procedures.
Underwriter’s Laboratories has been selected to be the program registrar. Following certification, Phipps & Bird will undergo annual audits to ensure its quality management system continues to comply with ISO requirements.
Phipps & Bird’s goal is to be certified by the end of the first quarter of 2002.
